"Some things may change, but the Marbella lifestyle remains the same" - Inspired by Photographer Slim Aarons' infamous picture taken in Marbella the 60's.
MY ROLE
For this edition of Your Complete Marbella Guide, I led the project as Creative Director and Campaign Leader, developing the concept for the cover image and building the full campaign universe around it.
Lifestyle is one of the defining reasons people choose to move to Marbella. It’s not just about property — it’s about atmosphere, light, elegance, leisure, and a certain effortless glamour that has defined the town for decades. We wanted this campaign to tell a clear story: people chose Marbella for the lifestyle then, and they still do today.
The inspiration came from the iconic photography of Slim Aarons. His work is instantly recognisable to locals; many have his photographs hanging in their homes because they capture, so perfectly, what Marbella represents: sun-soaked glamour, understated luxury, and timeless social elegance.
This was not a simple homage. It was a carefully orchestrated reinterpretation.
It took three years to bring this vision to life:
Sourcing a property that embodied today’s Marbella while reflecting the spirit of the original era
Securing the right creative partners
Meticulously planning every visual detail
A key collaborator was Homies Marbella, a local fashion brand that brought authenticity and contemporary edge to the styling. Every element - from wardrobe and props to composition and tone - was designed to mirror the original mood while modernising it to reflect the type of luxury properties Marbella offers today.

The image became more than a cover - it became a movement within the city.

The response was immediate. The image went viral locally, sparking conversation and recognition across the community. It resonated because it tapped into something deeply embedded in Marbella’s identity - a shared visual memory, reintroduced for a new generation.
